Lean Manufacturing was the topic during CCEDC's July Brown Bag Lunch Pactiv Advanced Packaging Solutions in Chippewa Falls was the location for the July 21st
Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) Brown Bag
Networking Lunch. Nineteen Chippewa County business leaders attended
this luncheon and were given the opportunity to hear a first hand
update from Thomas Hughes regarding his plans as the new Superintendent
of the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District. The luncheon topic
was lean manufacturing and the group discussion was led by Win Clemmons
Pactiv’s Plant Manager. During Win’s presentation he was able to give
meaningful examples of Pactiv’s highly successful lean manufacturing
program and share valuble experiences and advice to the group.
Following the group discussion and lunch a tour of Pactiv was given to
attendees. ....

CCEDC Brown Bag lunches have been a successful addition to CCEDC’s
business retention program”, stated Charlie Walker, President/CEO of
CCEDC. “Many opportunities for business leaders to share first hand
information on their processes are shared during these once a month,
informal sessions. Business leaders are given the opportunity to see
what other companies in the county are doing and how they may be able
to assist each other, especially during this trying economy. ”....
