Current mood: contemplative
Last week the musician and inventor Les Paul passed away. He's of course best known for his work with the Gibson guitar company, but he's also without doubt a true legend in the world of recording. He was overdubbing tracks on acetate discs back in the 40s and his subsequent work on early Ampex tape machines led directly to the development multitrack recording. His natural talent for innovation also gave rise to the idea of tape echo echo echo echo!
The Godfather of Recording, RIP
