The ninth annual South Buffalo Irish Festival and "Shop in Your Neighborhood" Expo is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the beautiful Cazenovia Olmsted Park in South Buffalo, NY.
The free event combines daylong live national and local entertainment, a business exposition and multiple activities for all ages to enjoy. For the young, there is face painting, caricatures, radio controlled car racing, a rock climbing wall, balloon animals, a juggler, etc. Two stages provide music throughout the day and there are performances from local Irish dance groups. A spectacular fireworks display ends the day’s festivities. The event is held in conjunction with the Greater South Buffalo Chamber of Commerce’s Shop in Your Neighborhood Expo, which features a business exhibition showcasing more than 70 local merchants.
This annual event has evolved into the largest festival of its kind held in a local park in Western New York. We charge no admission and provide food and refreshments at nominal prices. Last year over five thousand people from throughout the region turned out to enjoy what the day had to offer. We are able to hold this annual event solely through fundraising efforts, available grants, donations from many generous sponsors and hundreds of man-hours donated by our club members.
Please mark your calendars and join us this year! It is a fantastic experience, rain or shine. For details on this year's event, please visit the festival website at www.southbuffaloirishfestival.com.
