What do alt/goth/rivitheads/weirdos do in Knoxville?

Lets say you had a friend coming into town to visit for a weekend, and you wanted to make sure they didnt get bored, what kinds of places and things would you suggest for them to visit, shop, see, do?

I would really like as many replies as possible on this so feel free to post numerous times, ask your friends to contribute, thanks so much in advance for your help!!

examples:

Old Grey Cemetary
Sanctuary Clothing
McKays Used Books
The Sunshpere
Sharps Ridge
Lost and Found Records
The Perfect 10: Warren Peace

Rock i get to go first.Friday i would either hit Paul Oasis for Karoke or Barleys for a "Barleys Roundtable" (tm) Saturday During the day is really up in the air for how you feel i have lived here 5 years and no Saturday is the same anything from joining friends with little ones at fort kid to driving around town of course Saturday nights could start on gay street at the downtown brewery then hit temple if the right people are on the dj list.Sunday Morning in knoxville are a real blessing hell any sunday morning i wake up is a blessing.Sundays i usually hit petsmart and see the puppys and kittys that need new owners then maybe a bit of watching a nascar race if one is on at the local hooters and if its the right sunday a wrestling ppv at buffalo wild wings

well aside from Dolly wood/Pigeon fordge, there is the smokeys, white water and kayak runs down either the Occoee, Hiwasee, or bald river. The museums in Oak ridge. The massive flea markets. The millions of antique shops. There is aslo Cherokee national park, and reservation. ohhh....The lost sea...they have these really cool fish that are blind, and sparkly, not to mention you get to ride a boat in a massive cave.

hope these help, ill add more if I think of them.

Oh yeah, and when we're not doing that we go to Urban or Pres Pub, or go to the movies a lot.

I agree with Dustin.. I usually go karaoke somewhere. I haven't been to Paul's Oasis in a while but its a good place to go. Then of course, I go to Temple on Saturdays. Flea Markets are cool too! I'm not much help because I'm kind of a boring person but the movies is fun!

The commune of 5, in which I live, and I usually scout out the Metropulse for events taking place in the now and in the future, usually pertaining to the following: Movies in the Square, the art/film festivals that seem to be taking place either in Knoxville or Oak Ridge ALL the time, Broadway productions that sometimes happen at the TN Theater. When that fails, there's always the Hard Rock in Gatlinburg and here, we have people who know people and can get $1 drafts at Crawdaddies on the G-Burg strip. There's tons of COOL and CHEAP shit to do all the time, it's just finding it. Or, heh, if you paint, the commune and I are currently devising a plan to begin a weekly Art Day at our house in Newport. If you're into it, give me a shout! ^.^

Sassy Ann's House of Blues for one of the Burlesque gigs or World Grotto would be cool. Since its a gothy type, some of the historic cemeteries would probably be in order. If your feeling physically adventurous, some of the caves we have around here might be cool.

Go to the Domino's on Western Avenue and get a pizza. Then go down the road to Old Grey Cemetary for a picnic with homeless people. It's a beautiful graveyard, but be careful going there at night because the police like to fuck with people....
