Having gotten to know the soon to be 91 year old Sherwood Schwartz, I now can't help thinking that my dad would be in the age bracket where he could conceivably still be alive. But, cliche as it may sound, he's still around either way.

Your Pop provided much personal joy to this reporter and untold others and speaking for myself I'm certain my sense of humor and point of view would never have been the same without his inspired contributions. And FWIW I don't think anyone in today's ADD riddled society really realizes what an impact CC had on a generation who had 3 choices for entertainment-not 3 zillion and counting. Happy birthday indeed and may he and all his be blessed for adding some fun in a chilly world. Well done young man!

You know, I still get mileage out of the story of how your dad took us out to the Wagon Wheel in Carmel, and pronounced me the slowest eater he had ever seen in his life. I'll always have a special regard for him as the the man who made it possible for me to wear Buster Keaton's hat. Ah, good times...
