hello everybody this is jeff. I'm not really sure what to say... I've said this to a few people, but i want to express it to as many as i can. I've been working here (as I am now sitting here at Trixie's as i write this) for probably the better half of 5 and a half years. And as with anything that you do for a long time, It's common for you to get to a point at which you question why, and how long, and if it is still worth it. Well, these periods are periods of evaluation. and I think it's perfectly natural to find yourself questioning anything you do or choose to do for a long time. Because it is ultimately your choice. The thing is, the longer you do something it seems the more important these questions become. And as with anything Iv'e done I've naturally found my self asking these questions and evaluating the worth of whatever it was that i was doing for so long, ie playing guitar, writing songs, working at trixie's... Well, I can can honestly say that I will never worry about these questions in the terms of whatever time and energy i spent working at trixie's. Thanks to the overwhelming presence of all of you and and the myriad of ways that you were able to show me, the answer is clear. I have never been so secure with the worth of what I've done. I will never question the time i spent here. i just wanted to say thank you sunday night was honestly, amazing. and for those of you that are wondering about the the community/ contact list. please be patient I will have those up soon also for all of those interested i urge you to keep in contact would you come to a "rogue show"? because we might have one soon...

Eli

Thank you, my friend. I will miss every corner of that dim, smokey place.  I doubt any other building could have touched so many people so deeply.

I think we are going to have to have Trixie's withdrawal groups where like a million of us get together like nomads and have rogue shows and things of that nature.  I'm already feeling stressed without having a haven.

I'm sure people would love "rogue shows". I also know I love that term for them.

So sad to hear about the doors shutting!!!
I live more than an hour away, so I rarely made it out...
but knowing  TRIXIES was there made me feel good.
I loved performing in that little room. I first came out with Detroit Poet Becky Austin to the open mic back in winter of 2003.  I played there  numerous times and was always embraced with open arms by Trish, and the late Sean Fitz and all the excellent clientele.

I help run an indie coffeeshop in Plymouth and knowing another indie is in trouble makes me sad.
These places are important to our community and our well being.

Thank you all for your dedicated service
Never give up on what led you here... the creative intersection still exists, it's only changed.
Perhaps this is  an unexpected bend in the road.

Please let me know about a "rogue show" I'll try to make the trip!

Saddened by this news

Peace, Love and Best Wishes To All of You

Sincerely

Jeffree St.John
