Current mood:  hopeful
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers
Tune into FOX this Friday night for the two hour premiere of TNGAB. I entered us on a whim and got a call back, then another and another and we got on the show! They brought us to Los Angeles (Van Halen was rehearsing for their tour in the same studio complex) then Vegas. Who knows what footage they'll use... but you might see us. The "mean" judge called me "Disco Stu." But Sheila and Johnny said Bobby and I were tight. Although, it was (collectively speaking) our worst performance in years and all three judges "passed."

it's funny, i recognize and have met most of the people in the commercials, but i still haven't seen us in anything.

So a handful of flights, almost 20 hours in layovers, an infinite number of shuttle bus trips, 90+ pages of legal forms (including having to awkwardly approach my ex-girlfriend for her part of the background check), much too much lost sleep, maxed out day-job vacation time, my savings account, a bottle of Tums and 50 drinks later... I MIGHT be on TV.

(here comes the sermon)
the sacrifices musicians make to propel their careers are great and many. NEVER look at someone on MTV and curse them for having an easy life. chances are they busted their ass for years to get there. sure, you can hate their music, but don't hate the musician. even those teenie pop divas know nothing but work on their way to the top.
