We are nearly halfway through the seven-week Fall Foliage RV Ramble to New England and Québec, camped for the night across the St. Lawrence from Québec City. The leaves are red-orange-yellow gorgeous. I won't say peak. Peak is a futile concept that can drive a leaf peeper crazy. Is this peak? Did we miss the peak? Is the peak happening 10 miles from here, which means we are in the wrong friggin place? So I'm not interested in peak foliage. I'm lying. I check the internet. I talk bad French to people in restaurants, looking for clues to where the peak is, so I can bring my wife there and say, "Voilà! I have brought you the peak foliage!" She will then love me forever. I will be her Fall Foliage RV Hero. Anyway. The Transit Campground at Levis, Québec, has a WI-Fi connection, but it's slow so the iChat I just had with my folks was pretty broken up; we had to talk slowly. It was still fun to have them appear on the screen of the MacBook Pro for a little chat, Cambridge and Québec linked like a call from the moon to earth. Can you see my hand? I'm WAVING it at you!
