Current mood:  excited
Hey everyone,

It took me a while to update you guys about the festival. Why? Well, because of the fact that I had to look for a new location to let the festival take place. How come?

I started about half a year ago booking bands and figured it might be a great idea to make it a festival. SCV (social cultural union) "Eureka" is the place where I usually organise band-nights and it was the venue where I wanted to do the festival in the first place. The people of the activity commission from Eureka really liked the idea, until it became more concrete. About a month and a half before the festival will take place, they were kind of shocked to see what money I had booked bands for. I tried to arrange that, but it seemed to difficult to get everyone in the union to be OK with my plan. This forced me to look out for a new location.

Please understand, it's a little more complicated than what I just wrote and I'm not willing to blame Eureka for this. It might have worked out if I were more concrete about the festival from the beginning. On the other hand, that might count for them as well. But it doesn't really matter to me right now, because I've learned from this situation and wanna continue booking bands sometime in the future, at Eureka in Zwolle. But that is the future. We're now talking about the Post Summer Festival!

I've tried to find a location in or near Zwolle. It didn't work out. I've tried about 20 venues and squats but it just wouldn't work out, until some very nice people in Groningen offered their squat as the place for my festival. I just confirmed that today, so Post Summer Festival is going to take place in the end and I'm totally excited about that because I worried about how I would have to tell the touring bands that I couldn't offer them a stage or money anymore. But now I don't have to tell them that, the only bad thing that could happen is if they would have to cancell their tour for different reasons. But that wouldn't be because of me right now, understand? :)

So...what's going to happen?

- Well, the first band will kick off at 19.00, the last tunes shall end about 04.00
- The entrance will probably be €10,-.
- Beer will cost you about half a euro for the class II, or one euro for class I.
- The squat is located on top of the Kwantum (big store), about 20 minutes walking from the Central Station in Groningen. It's also easy to get there by bus.
- All bands named on the flyer will perform live, I'm still confirming some other stuff
- You are going to tell all your friends and connections to come to the festival!

As soon as the flyer's ready, please add it to your profile and tell the world there's a very nice festival coming up. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days, thanks for reading and spreading the word!

Kind regards,

Joey/PostSummerFestival
