Was anyone there? i must say that i was disappointed. The doors opened at 8, show was slated to start @ 9, didnt start until 1040. Bilal was clearly trippin on something, the dude litereally put his hand out at one chick trying to take a picture (lol) took a song long break like after the 4th joint and came back with his head covered up. lol. unfortunately seeing this shit was actually funny. I love the brothers music, but after a portion of the crowd demanded their money back adn left, stood for 2 plus hours, and started booing, here comes Bilal. and the man himself forgot words to his own songs, i felt compelled to see if anyone in attendence has something to say. This is not a good look for an artist who hasnt (really) put out anything in the amount of time Bilal has. I am dissapointed at the brotha. from discussion last night many people will not attend a next show. I felt this was totally inconsiderate being as though it was a Sunday night of all nights to top it off.....Bilal coming soon to your town.

Here is my response. I joined this message board just to post this. Yup, it is that serious.
Gotta start out by saying that I would be the Head Negress in Charge of the Bilal Stan Association, if there was such a thing. I've been to at least 6 or 7 of his shows, probably more. Got vids on YT and write reviews on my blog.
Having said that, I do understand where you are coming from and you are entitled to your opinion. It was a Sunday night and because there was no opening act, that made the wait seem even longer. However, that's just how he do. Whether it's right or wrong...who's to say? If you are a true Bilal fan (stan), you just accept that is how it's going to be at his show. He's like that family member that continuously f's up but you love them anyway. He's going to keep you waiting and he's going to be high off whatever. That's Bilal Oliver.
HOWEVER, when he does finally bring his black ass out, you cannot deny that he puts on a HELL of a show- which he did on Sunday. He is going to sing the HELL out of all your faves. He's gonna ack a plum fool and keep you entertained. And he loves his fans. And they love him. He hung out afterwards taking pics with everybody. Sure, he's going to forget a line or two but so what? This is Bilal, an independent artist. We're at the 930 Club - not at Constitution Hall. Not trying to excuse his behavior totally, but if you love the music like I do, you gotta take him or leave him. I take him every single time I can.
