We have entered into the second part of
the year 2009. So I ask, how’s it going? Have you accomplished any of
the endeavors the Lord placed before you? Or are you on the other side
and it seems like everyone else is flourishing in and you haven’t even
gotten started? I’d like to share a few scriptures and 3 truths with
you to encourage you and remind you it’s not over yet! The Kingdom
Mandate for your life is still in place.
“Wherefore seeing we also are
compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside
every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us…”Hebrews 12:1
Truth #1 - Sometimes
we just have to lay down old habits, stop thinking unhealthy thoughts,
and stop spending time with certain people, in order to walk in God’s
plan for our lives. Old habits include complaining, taking things
personally, forgetting about God when things are going smoothly,
cutting corners to get ahead or to just stay afloat in life, lying,
gossiping, habits that have the potential to cause bodily harm, lying,
being fearful of outcomes before you’ve even gotten started with
whatever you should be doing, and lying. I mention lying three times
to point out that this is a sneaky one that Saints get caught up in all
too often. It is birthed out of self-preservation, the need to always
come out on top or favorable. These old habits can just eat away at
our minds, thus hinder us from reaching our goals...
