After a prayer-filled 40 hour non-stop bus ride from Vancouver, Washington, The Thirsting, fueled by frequent rosaries, arrived in the Rosary Belt of southern Texas for a live radio interview and recording on Thursday night, August 13 in San Antonio at KJMA 89.7 (click to tune in!
http://www.facebook.com/kjmaradio). In spite of local requests at a truck stop along highway 84 in west Texas, their trailer was too jammed to break out the guitars for a jam session.
“It’s great to be traveling and meeting these people. Beautiful folks,” says pianist, vocalist and guitarist Matt Lambrecht. “It’s an honor to be doing this. Hopefully God will be helping them.”
After 3 days of makeshift roadside meals, they were treated to Mrs. Gonzalez’s homemade carne guisada in Raymondville, TX, noted by bassist Brady as the best he’d ever had. In addition to the tex-mex cuisines, for the next two weeks, they will be playing at parish halls, praying at adoration chapels, and evangelizing the Catholic youth across Texas, from the Rosary Belt in the south to the Bible Belt in the north.
On Saturday, August 15, The Thirsting will rock the historic pillars of San Fernando Cathedral in downtown San Antonio, with 2000 expected. The event is being promoted by Xodus Ministries (www.xodusministries.net).
