so we've been away for a while but we are back now and gonna let you in on a few details and set the record straight.
WE'RE GOING BACK ON THE ROAD !! we're trying to book as many dates as possible so we can bring you our best set to date !!!! performing old songs from as far back as 7 years ago !!! and new songs we know you'll all like. this will be accompanied with alot of fuck off if you don't like it!
we are currently recording our 14 track debut album which will include old and new songs , this is being done by our good friend in helsinki seven who has agreed to record us for fuck all since we are so skint its unreal !! and as he lives round the corner from me (tony) it helps us get more hands on and involved than we have ever been.
it's taken us 2 years to record our first album , with problems at home, with money, jobs and lack of time, did i mention money ???!!! with upsets in the band and upsets with time again, life in lap has been hard, and we have been far too close to splitting up , but all i say is jim and myself have so much blood , sweat and tears invested in this band to let it go to shit , and with the added help from martin in the past 2 years of him being with us we are finally at that stage where the finish line is in sight !!!!
we had been recording with kerry hughes in huddersfield (grubby nun recording studio) but as i lost my job and we had alot of personal problems to deal with ,it became apparent that we just couldn't afford to record up there any longer , we just couldn't afford the fuel to get to him !!! it got that bad ! i would just like to say thank you to kerry for all his hard work and efforts , he is simply an awesome guy and an excellent record producer who offers amazing rates for recording . we feel really bad that we just can't afford to go back as we were onto a good thing with him had great hopes of a well produced album, unfortunately money just isn't our friend at the momment , lets hope this changes hey ? we hope to work with him in the future if all goes to plan and if he'll have us back?
with martin getting a full time job in sept/oct we might be doing some shows without him, so you're in for a right fucking treat with just the 2 of us! , but we hold our own and with the help from a little technology and boss/roland know how , we won't miss a beat ! martin hopefully will be with us on most dates but we understand why he is having to getting a full time job and we hope that he carries on with us until such time as it's no longer an option but a career move to keep with us.
until now we have relaesed 6-7 track cds, 3 in total (v2.1, lifeamongpeople and the ignored effect) they have been a quite sucess but with only realesing 6 tracks they have run out of steam with the press and we ran out of money, so we have been advised to release an album instead of eps this should hopefully do the trick and get us a little more recognition for our music which is our lifes work.
everyone and i mean everyone who has been there for lap and been in lap :) we thank you for the ups and downs and the support through the past 7 years. we hope that our next 7 years will be us kicking fuck out of shit music and shit scenes , we're here to make music not fucking t shirts or create a scene with no purpose, we're here to make good honest rock music and tell it like it is .
our album won't be released for a while yet until we have it mixed and mastered then shopped to see if any labels wanna help us pay to get it out to the world, if no label it will be done diy, but if you don't understand why we want a label then you don't have a clue how much it costs to be in a band for 7 years , i have nothing against diy i just know we can get far better results through labels.
anyway i feel i might have gone on a little so until next time.....
