So the past few days I've been checking out the recipes on this website and it got me thinking about one of my favorite treats when I was young.
Orange Julius at the mall!
I found a "copy cat" type recipe online and decided to try it out with 8th Continent Complete Vanilla in place of the regular milk.
It tasted just how I remembered!
Here it is:
6 oz of frozen orange juice concentrate
1 cup 8th Continent Complete Vanilla soymilk
1 cup water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract (or flavoring) use more or less to your specific taste
8-10 ice cubes
Blend all ingredients (except ice) in blender on high. Then add ice cubes one by one until the consistency is to the thickness you like.
This portion makes about 2 large servings.
Of course feel free to jazz this recipe up as you like such as adding other fresh fruits like pineapple, bananas, strawberries, etc. I'm trying to remember all of the different flavors Orange Julius offered back in the 80's. :-)
