Here ye, here ye, to all parties of interest. Touch
Committee's new album, "Winter Beard" is now available for download on
emusic,
amazon,
and itunes. I don't have a fancy link to itunes, but if you go to
itunes and search for "Touch Committee" you'll only find one band
(it's a "unique" name like that). Or you can search for "Winter
Beard", I doubt there's another record out there with that title. It's
also available on lala, rhapsody and napster (I was just as surprised
as you to find out napster was still around). And if you try hard
enough, you can probably find a free copy of it somewhere on line.
The record is loud. Lot's of fuzz guitars and
solos and stuff. People say it's reminiscent of 90's indie rock like
Archers of Loaf, Built to Spill and Superchunk, and I would probably
agree. But I think we do a good job of moving forward in that genre
instead of just wading around in 90's nastagia. I can't believe I just
said 90's nostalgia.
We have some shows coming up, too. One is a Talking Head's tribute
show at Kimo's where we'll be playing some of our music as well as a
few numbers by the Talking Heads. This show is on some friday in
April. Like the 17th, unless of couse the 17th isn't a friday. Look,
I don't know what the actual date is but it's the week of the 17th and
it is a friday. We'll also be having out big album release gala in
march on a saturday. we'll post the details when it's finalized, but
the show is going to be with Finest Dearest, Sterling Says and Excited
States. Needless to say, this show will be f'ing awesome.
So, go download our album. If you're old fashion, CD's and Vinyl will follow shortley.
