I have seen this city eat up the best of my intentions and change our finest men and women into uninteresting drunks, worker-bees, and nymphets. You cant fuck to freedom and you sure as hell cant drink your way to enlightenment. Before you scoff, roll your eyes, and slowly sip  your Macchiato in contempt, know this: I am not blaming this on alcohol or sex.. It is not the fault of our sweet poisons. And i myself am not about to monk it up in the hills of Tibet. I just think that the uninspiring climate of complacency in the south and many other middle class fried okra cities can tame you. Make you boring. And then you turn to the classic muses to bring you some life blood trough those cold blue veins.
So, arctic children of the sweet gold bible belt... What are we to do? Lets get some culture in our sex. try karma sutra. Lets live dangerously. Lets swallow gin and sceam Sex Pistol's lyrics into the TN River. write something, paint something, get in a fist fight with god. If you are gonna get high..do it while painting nude and dancing. be a fucking wildcat not one of those pretty yet yawning sigfreid and roy pussycats. no more walking around drunk in the dark waiting for a warm body to fall on you. Lets get some art in our lives. lets make our lives art.
So i ask you, where are the dreamers, the psychos, the poets? Where are our golden children? Come out to play.
No more dress rehearsals.
