thank you to everyone who has ever shown up for a gig or sent a message of support, in what is coming up to 4 years of stress, stress, tears, excitement, sheer joy, so much fun, and above all an AMAZING time

I don't know what the future is for The Cuckoo's Nest. Even though I sometimes say that it was my 'mental breakdown' or midlife crisis time (..starting at 24, always been an early starter), and sometimes I have the occassional dark moment where I wonder why on earth I let myself be dragged in to all of this, it has also been the best time for so many reasons.

firstly, I have met the best friends I have ever had in my entire life, and so many more people have entered my life who have filled me with excitement, inspired me to do things that probably wouldn't have even entered my consciousness five years ago, and made me feel like I had a worthwhile purpose (however small) during a time where I had begun to feel that there was nothing useful about my life.

You turned me round and gave me energy and I will never forget it. I was clearing my cupboards the other day and I found flyers and letters and fanzines from a year or two ago. Every item had such emotional weight - I'm laden with memories and they are all good.

Every bad gig has been shored up by meeting new amazing people. Every good gig made me feel like I could do anything. I could be anyone.

It might be time to move on now. We'll see.
