While taking a very long walk today, I wrote a poem. I think it's fun, though not quite done, with amendments to come. I'm arguing myself over what to title it, but I believe the meaning is clear enough that I needn't spell it out for anyone via something straightforward. I'll have to think of a suitable metaphor. Let me know what you think, if you feel so inclined.
--------------------------
If I laugh when you yell,
If I smile when you scowl,
Try to understand.
If I'm happy when you're sad,
If I grin when things get bad,
Try to understand.
If I'm over it before you've gotten into it,
If I'm light hearted before you've even started,
Try to understand,
Even when you're angry,
Especially when you're nervous,
I can't reason whether or not it's on purpose.
Always when you're upset,
Certainly when stressed,
You always look your best.
And if I laugh when you yell,
If I smile when you scowl,
Try to understand.
