Dave Bidini of The Rheostatics wrote a great book a while back called 'On A Cold Road.'  It's a book that chronicles The Rheos tour as the support act on a Canadian tour with The Tragically Hip.  I love that book and can relate to a lot things that go down.  There's a lot of strange and interesting and wonderful things that go on around rock-n-roll shows even at the level we're at of relatively unknown regional band that moonlights as a national touring thingamajig.

Me and my bandmates have been writing an imaginary book full of these whacky anecdotes for years and have been known to mutter "one for the book" after something whacky happens.  Clearly this "book" will never see the light of day...mostly because no one would probably be interested.  This past Sunday night I did have one of those "one for the book" moments.  You see, on Sunday I was punched by a girl.

Now, the puncher in question is by no means a brute.  She's just a pal that shares the same musical taste and shares some other mutual pals.  The punchee (me) was just not prepared for her two inch Bruce Lee fist poke of death to the diaphram.  Ever had the wind knocked outta ya?  Where you think yer gonna die?  Where you're kind of aware that you just got winded and you'll be alright but you still think you're gonna die?  All of this compounded further by the puncher laughing hysterically at your plight.  So yes, I was punched and temporarily immobilized by a girl who is waaay less than half my size.  Ain't rock glamorous?

Three cool things I wanna tell ya....

On Wednesday July 29 we'll be debuting our new songs at Artpark with The Trews.  The Trews are just a killer rock band but you already know that. Must see.  Free show.  6pm start.  Family friendly atmosphere...bring the kiddies or your little sister or your dad.

On Friday July 31 we'll be doing our first of two CD release parties for the weekend.  We are so lucky to have lots friends up in Niagara County, and we wanted to do something cool up there and show our appreciation.  The show will be at Finnans on Lincoln Ave in Lockport NY.  10pm start.  Promise a great rock show and you can grab one of our new CDs before anyone else.

On Sunday Aug 2 we will be doing our official Erie County CD release show at The Croc on Chippewa in downtown Buffalo, NY.  This one is gonna be special and I really hope you can make it.  Our buds from More Than Me are opening the show.  Garbaz.com will be doing a full visuals show in The Croc that night too.  Garbaz just did shows with Wilco and Dave Matthews last week and now he's working with lowly ol' Jeremy Hoyle Band on Sunday!  We're gonna bring it hard and play our new CD in full and lots and lots of your favorites.  See?  You gotta be there!

If you need any more info, please message me here on myspace or get in touch how you usually get in touch.
