Current mood:  optimistic
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

A day late but, here goes...

2008 was just wrong, on sooo many levels. But I have a good feeling about 2009, theres alot I want to do, and alot I need to prove to MYSELF. So here's to hope, change, and dreams.

And for fun, just some quotes to keep me motivated:

"Fear less, hope more; Eat less, chew more; Whine less, breathe more; Talk less, say more; Hate less, love more: and all good things will be yours."

                                                                --- Swedish Proverb

"Love generally but do not commit yourself to a particular love, you will become known as a sympathetic friend, and faithful lover, because you never really permit these roles to seize your heart, you can practice and perfect them, but the heart is gaurded, kept free and untarnished by any simple human affiliation so that it will reflect in glorious accuracy all the charts of the stars, which the clouds one day will part to reveal. The important thing is not to approach anyone too close because tomorrow you may have become pure light."

                                                                              ---L. Cohen

"Unless it's mad, passionate, extraordinary love, it's a waste of your time. There are too many mediocre things in life, love shouldn't be one of them."

"Make the moment accessable. Accept the imperfect nature of being. Accept that this isnt rehersal. This is your life. This is it."

"Go placidy amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. Go as far as possible without surrender. Be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are the vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possesion in the changing of time. Exercize caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue this is; many persons strive for high ideals; And everwhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself, especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth . Nurture strength of spirit to sheild you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imagings; Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; You have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all it's shame, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy."

                                              ---Max Ehrmann, Desiderata

And last but not least my resolutions (most are the same as every year but there's always hope ill commit ha)

Finnish what you start.

Dont give up on yourself so easily.

Learn to treat yourself, as good as you treat others for once. Stop caring so much about what other people think. And live your life regardless. You've missed out on too much as it is for this reason. Be happy with yourself and what you have.

Keep practicing (art), It makes perfect. (or pretty close im told) it's what you love aspire to conitually better yourself by it.

Get healthy. (This includes but is not limited to sleeping regularly and NORMAL hours.)

Work on that procrastinating/lazy thing.

Try to be on time for something at least ONCE this year. (I think thats a realistic goal.)

Be a better daughter/sister/aunt/neice/cousin/grandaughter/friend.

Be a better you. For no one but yourself, be the person you've always wanted to be without looking back and with out appologies.

Be happy or find your happiness, even in the darkest of times (you've learned how strong you are now, use it.)

GRADUATE! (*crosses fingers*)

That was really for me. But, happy new years guys.
