Current mood: thoughtful Category: Religion and Philosophy
I've spent many hours over the last few months listening to the Way of the Master Radio. The show is like 2 hours every week day.
Anyway...I have a lot to say about some of the stuff I've absorbed, but it's late right now, and I need to get to bed, so I am going to jot down a few thoughts, and add more later.
I know there is more involved, but I heard a very basic definition of "Post-Modernism..." ...that it is the philosophy that everything in the world is a matter of opinion.
ie: If you want to believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that's great for you, but I believe dot, dot, dot...and if you can't respect that, then there is something wrong with you, etc etc...
A couple of days ago I realized that this line of thinking is in the realm of my 4 year old son's ideaology.
"Oh Asher look at that green tree." "That's not green, Mommy, that's blue." "No, Asher, it isn't blue, it's green." "Well, I just call it that."
And who can argue? If he wants to call it blue, knowing it's green, the only way to stop him is by force I guess. Or hey...maybe by applying a Godly principle to the matter and teaching him that, WOW, there are absolute truths that must be adhered to.
Lord, please help me instill these values into my kid before he's absorbed too many lies as truths, and although his conscience tells him the truth, he'll still say, "Well, I call it..."
