To Students of the Game: There was a man named Wayman Tisdale who dispite the odds that he was more likely to be a succesful Brain surgeon had a tremendous career in the NBA. There was a man named Wayman Tisdale who inspite of the odds that said only one in 30,000 musicians could have a successful career in music became a Billboard Chart topping Bassist. Now what was your excuse again? Exactly; Go Practice.

What's good Walter?
I'm going to miss my guy, Tis. Everytime he came to Milwaukee, I was there to hang out with him. He was like one of my closest cats to be around. He will be definitely missed

One of my favorite memories was getting to play with Wayman at the Greenwood Jazz Festival in Tulsa (which coincidentally was not long after meeting you Mr. Beasley). I spoke with him about a year ago about collaborating on a Donny Hathaway remake (to which he agreed to), but I drug my feet and now I have missed the opportunity of a lifetime! No more procrastinating or excuses!!!

I'm surprise to read the news of Wayman Tisdale passing away a person that I don't know and did'nt have the chance to see him perform LIVE as I'm based in the Uk. Still to this day Wayman Tisdale (Rebound) support on my radio show which he has been play-list for over a year and its a dissapointment I did'nt get to know more of his music. Im a young man myself and support jazz soul music and it makes you think that I have to stick to my guns and be true to myself and work hard for what I belive in within the music industry and not to waste time or excuses continue to work within your means. To family and friends of Wayman Tisdale my thouhts go out to you.

His energy, approachable style and performances will be greatly missed! STUDENTS MR BEASLEY IS RIGHT! It is 22 years I followed your PROfessor's career and helped made 1987 a GREAT year in music. You are blessed to have his approachable and available talent.

Wayman Tisdale will be very deeply missed forever. However, I think that maybe a group of jazz musicians/individuals should at least contribute to making an album of recognition for Mr. Tisdale. All in all, he had a great life that I'm sure of, but may he now rest in heaven peacefully and continue to play his music humbly.
