This is definitely going to be a short one! I'm simultaneously unpacking, doing laundry, packing, and trying to figure out technical difficulties while updating my page. I just got back from a trip last night, and I'm leaving for the UK tomorrow... but I wanted to get this song up before I left! unfortunately, there is a problem with paypal on myspace now, so although I've been using that for years, it looks like I may have to find a new way of doing things... hopefully they'll sort it out, but we'll see. Anyway, back to the music.

For those of you who read my last blog, I mentioned that I really felt something when I performed Hallelujah at the concert in Birmingham. I've been fielding emails daily asking me to record it, and although I really wasn't planning on it... I ended up laying it down for ya'll. For reasons already stated, (a lot of folks cover it, and no one's better than Buckley) I didn't want to, but I did. And I like it. Do I want anyone to compare it side by side with his version? no, but I am proud of it. I enjoy singing it, and I hope you enjoy listening to it! The song is up on my page for now, not sure if I'll keep it up there or not, but it is available for purchase on my website at www.jasonmanns.com. I put it on an album with some similarly paced acoustic originals. It's a pretty mellow album. Very pensive.

I told you this one would be short! my lead in was longer than my blog!!
I'll have a longer one when I get back from the UK! (which yes, we are still trying to find a venue for a second show on the saturday night, so if anyone knows of anything, or wants to host a hundred or so folks at their house for a concert... ;) contact kellie at www.sliqueevents.com

God Bless,
Hope all is well.

We just knew you'd have to break down and record it. That song is simply too marvelous to pass up. It was meant for your vocal range too. Can't wait to get our copy.
Loved hearing you sing it in person too.

I am so excited to hear the recorded version (and purchase the album).  Personally, I love your cover of "Hallelujah" the best out of all the ones I have heard.  I love the song and think the way you sing it is absolutely amazing.

Thank you for doing that for your fans!

Hallelujah is one of my favorite songs, and I think your cover is right there with Buckley's.  You have a tremdous voice and bring a quality to this song that is beautiful. Thank you for giving it to us.

I hope everyone in the UK enjoys your concert.  Still waiting here in Texas and I sure hope you manage one in the Austin area or Killeen when you come.

As soon as my money arrives, I will go to your site and order the cd and I also want your last concert  that you did and I haven't been able to buy.  I think I have the rest.

Thank you for taking the time to update us and to get Hallelujah on your page.

Oh, Jason, this is wonderful news!  That song is pure magic to me, and I am so happy to have the chance to hear you sing it.
Have a wonderful time in the UK!  I was there in January for my first trip ever, and I dearly hope to get back next year.  Best of luck on your trip, and yeah, good luck with the techno junk.  ;)
Cheers ~

I ordered it from the link you posted on Facebook, signature request also
It is a beautiful version and there is something about it, I have heard the song many times before, but there is something more peaceful and purhaps even more spiritual in yours, whatever is in the soul comes out in the music, everyone can feel it, so you must have a beautiful soul.
Thanks for releasing it, I have been waiting for you to do so myself. Some covers are better

I may not live in the UK but I'll brave a noise complaint or two and offer my back yard. It's about a quarter acre so we can handle 100 or so. :) Good luck on the other side of the pond and I look forward to the new cd.

I'm glad you recorded your own version of this amazing song. I would never compare your version with Jeff's. I still remember the first time i heard his version. It hit me hard. Next thing i knew i was crying but that's what i love about music... they way it moves you.. how it touches your soul and makes you feel. i love that feeling.

I think i rambled there *g* but seriously, i really love your version. Thank you for recording it and sharing it with us.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Stay safe

Hey Jason, skipped a blog so I can comment here before my lunch half hour is over....eeek, but I will go back to the Asylum one when time pemits, from a quick skim it seems like a really exciting time! Thank you so much, I have been listening to your version of Hallelujah all morning (I only discovered it this morning! ....yeah, I know, it takes me a while!)
Anyhoo it is funny cause I have always wanted to hear you sing this song, and you do a wonderful job. Not that it is a 'job' more of a wonderful 'love' if you know what I mean. Hallelujah is such an incredible song and yes there are many versions. Each artist bringing something different to the mix. Jeffs is exquisite (as are all his covers, Lilac Wine OMG! and originals for that matter, there is/was no one quite like him).
I love your interpretation Jason, your voice is sounding beautiful, as always, everything comes together so sweetly, I knew you would nail it! Im so glad you decided to release it, and when I read that you have included 'Let It Go' I was over the moon. Im not sure if this is the first time you have put this song on CD but I know I havent got it in my collection so YAY!! Let It Go is one of my favourites, delicate and intricate, love it heaps! Thanks again, Hope you had a great time in the UK btw...lets see you've been north, east uh west? next time 'go south young man'....... that my lame attempt at an invite, but dont hold that against the rest of Oz!, we'd love to see you (and its a great place for a family holiday too!)........hope the NY shows go well, have fun,.......now I'm off to order my CD....byeeeee...take care, God Bless, love Raelynne xo :-)
