What an incredible Thursday! God is truly doing BIG things in Buffalo.
This week we passed out lemonade and kool-ade to the teenagers on Main St. There were about 2-3 times as many people as last week because it was an awesome sunny day. We met so many new people, and reconnected with friends from last week.
It was cool that the kids remembered us, and referred to us as “the cool Christians”. It is so refreshing to change the way we think of outreach. We go to where they are, and just have a good time with them. Between Christ Records rapping for the kids, and other kids playing with Chris’s hair, we just have fun being down there and showing Christ’s love to people who have never experienced it in such a real, tangible way.
When we showed up at Prima Pizza for the “pizza party”, the place was already packed out. In fact there were so many people that we couldn’t fit any more inside, so half the group hung out outside. 2 powerful testimonies were shared; one was outside on top of someone’s shoulders in the middle of a crowd of teenagers.
When these kids see that we are not there to force our beliefs on them, but just because we love them, and that we are real people with real stories (some very similar to their own), opportunities just open up for God to move in their lives.
If you haven’t come down to experience and be a part of what God is doing in downtown Buffalo, then we will see you next week at the square. You don’t want to miss it!
