One of our favourite Hip-Hop albums of the year has to be D-Sisive's 'Let The Children Die' (Urbnet). First, he got the Juno Award nod, then came the Polaris Music Prize's long-list, and most recently, SOCAN's Echo Songwriting Award nomination for his single 'Nobody With A Notepad'. D-Sisive is on every critics list and every chart out there.
When he came by the Do Right! HQ one day to tell us how much he loves Heidi Happy's 'Flowers, Bird, And Home' album, we didn't expect him to return with a duet version of 'Why'!
"All it took was one listen and I was instantly in love with 'Why'. The lyrics are so harsh, yet delivered so beautifully. I had to do something with it. I'm known to get personal with my music, but have never had the opportunity to write about relationships. This was the perfect opportunity," said D-Sisive.
Augmented by a powerful back-beat produced by Muneshine, D-Sisive's verse flows effortlessly between Heidi's chorus, transforming the song into a powerful duet of lost love from two points of view.
