Have you ever had one of those days, where you just think to yourself, will it EVER end???? Today was a day like that for me....
It started with the power going out... No biggie, or so I thought... We decided to just go outside and get some things done that needed to be done. There we are a nice HOT day, only 101 today, not sure what the heat index was or the humidity factor, I just know it was hot....
Jason asked Gavin to back up my Jeep so Gavin would be able to pull the garden hose out from underneath, apparently when I pulled in yesterday I wasn't paying attention...:)
I see my 14 and half year son climb into my Jeep, so I walked over to make sure he would be able to do it. I reminded him which pedal was which and reinterated the fact that there was no need to use the gas....
Let me take a moment here to explain the layout of our land. Our driveway curves into the back of the house, it happens to be lined with trees. Our whole yard is filled with trees.
So, Gavin starts the Jeep, puts it in reverse and proceeds to punch the gas. In horror I am watching my son, heading straight back, right on track to have full impact with two trees. I'm screaming at him to hit the brake, over and over.....
Finally, he hits the brake throws the car in park and I'm pulling him out....
I know, two trees? Doesn't sound like a big deal, but considering he had punched the gas and wasn't wearing a seatbelt, I felt like my heart stopped beating.
I didn't stop shaking for a long time....
In fact, I think about 50 gray hairs sprouted...
I can only remember two other times in my life where I have been that terrified....
Boys......
This one is going to kill me yet....
LMAO...
Luckily, it scared him as bad as it scared me, if not more. After a few minutes (we were both still shaking) we looked at each other and started laughing..
I am not looking forward to driving lessons.....LOL
After almost 6 hours of no power, it was finally restored....
I can't wait until we are in the home that we build and are completely off the grid, self-sufficent...
The day has finally ended and I can now look forward to what this day will bring...
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
