Who Gives Kudos:

September 16, 2009 - Wednesday
I posted a link to this story earlier today on twitter but it's so horrific I wanted to make sure our whole base of readers had the chance to read it...

Premature baby "left to die":

Doctors left a premature baby to die because he was born two days too early, his devastated mother claimed yesterday.

Sarah Capewell begged them to save her tiny son, who was born just 21 weeks and five days into her pregnancy  -  almost four months early.
They ignored her pleas and allegedly told her they were following national guidelines that babies born before 22 weeks should not be given medical treatment.

Miss Capewell, 23, said doctors refused to even see her son Jayden, who lived for almost two hours without any medical support.
She said he was breathing unaided, had a strong heartbeat and was even moving his arms and legs, but medics refused to admit him to a special care baby unit.

Miss Capewell is now fighting for a review of the medical guidelines.

I posted the story on FB and was appalled at the responses I got... GRRRRR... what is wrong with people? What next... we wont treat the elderly, or the minorities??? Where is the heart for the living? Isnt it bad enough we KILL unborn babies in America every day??? Now we are taking it one step further.....

This is absolutely awful. I often think that doctors have the "God" complex. They think they can play with peoples lives. Eventually one day they will have to answer to the wrong they have done here on this earth. And they will answer to the REAL GOD! May he have mercy on their souls.

I just had a son 3 weeks ago, born at 22 weeks.. doctors would do nothing. He lived for an hour, gasping as they let him slowly die. So called "doctors" disgust me.

Not the best.. but this isn't new to me & the first few weeks/months are just like some surreal process. I have six children. None of them are living. Four passed during my first trimester, then I finally had a son that was born last December at almost 25 weeks, but around here - doctors seem to get to pick & choose which babies they want to save. The neonatalogist that was informed about him being born at the hospital only looked at him for a minute after he was born, then seemed to decide that it would be "inhumane" to save a baby at that age & size. He wasn't small for his age or anything.. over a pound & a foot long. He was perfectly healthy. He lived on his own, without the support that they should have given him for close to 3 hours. I guess that's what you get for living in a pro-"choice" state. If only doctors actually ACTED like doctors.. my two sons could be alive right now. I am just so lost without them. I don't know how people can just throw away a life like that. No matter how much someone begs some doctors to save their baby, it just all depends on if they think that that baby is worth saving. I hope that one day this will all end & people will finally see how much a life is worth, no matter the size of that life. It's priceless.
