Grandad,


It's been 21 years since the last time I was able to hear your voice.
21 years since I ate your grits and that awful burned bacon, 21 years
since I had any of Emma's tea cookies. I was only 7 years old when you
passed. I remember the morning you passed, I was getting ready for
school - finished coloring a picture so daddy could take it to you. Mom
had a "premonition"...after that, daddy called to say you passed away.


I would give anything to have you here on earth again. I would LOVE for
you to meet Gerald Vine. He's absolutely THE most wonderful person I
know. It was truly sad for him to have not gotten the chance to meet
you. But, your spirit lives on with him. He's truly your name sake in
every sense of the word.


I know you are looking down on us everyday...Kari is doing so well. I'm
so proud of her. I know that you are too. Dad and Mom are well.
Everytime I look at Daddy...the grayer he becomes LOL... I see you.


I don't know if it's correct to say that the 3 of us missed out on
grandparents. Neither of us had the chance to meet Grandma Ada or
Grandfather Willie. We knew Gramma Carrie, but time was cut short due
to her illness, I would've loved to learn more about her...you are
honestly the only grandparent that I have true memories of. Feels as
though we were short changed. But, we will continue to live everyday as
if it's our last, as I am positive that you did.


I have made alot many mistakes in my life...and wish that I could've
come to you for some guidance. I hope that when you look at me from
heaven, you're proud. I am VERY proud to be your grand daughter. Until
we meet in heaven, I will forever carry you in my heart.
