I recently heard a techno remix of Riders On The Storm with a rapped interlude by a woman with a flight attendant type voice saying something about car brands. I thought I was in a dream.

I rounded all my gear up and assembled yesterday. I have spent a large portion of the past two days listening to all the half tracks I have done for my record that we will be starting the home stretch for around the15th. I have not listened to most of them in 6 months. They sound good. Im happy. But of course the insecure artist in me asks, Well maybe they just sound good because of what you have been listening to?

I am home. I have been home for two weeks. I have a two-week adjustment period. I know this because I am old enough to know this about myself. Also, I have switched from touring to writing to recording to doing nothing to working enough times in my life to know how long it takes for me to feel adjusted. Therefore I am home today.

In six months nothing has changed. Jon sill calls me too late. Dav and I play phone tag. Chris and I have breakfast. Dave listens and teaches me things, and gives me elaborate birthday gifts that are completely too much but I take anyway (like the refurbished Squire Tele he gave me today, which I appreciate so much as I am minus an electric guitar). Jackie is almost like my boyfriend. Mom and Dad made me dinner. I am so lucky. I am so lucky that I left for 6 months and nothing changed.

Well, I guess one thing has changed. It is midnight and it is past my bedtime. GN

P.S. Oh Yeah I cant wait for you all to hear Whats So Great About Her. Its so retarded.

Welcome home, Ms. D.!  Hope you are all refreshed and revitalized from your sabbatical.  I can't wait to hear your new works and reworks (WSGAH! ;-).  Take care and have fun!

I think I read the lyrics to Whats So Great About Her a while back, and I was like YESSSS!  I totally understand that song....I think it speaks to a lot of women who are all trying wayyyy too hard.  And then we just get mad at ourselves for even wanting to be that way....phew.

Anyway, look forward to hearing it.

Misty :o)

Looking forward to hearing the new music!

When you cycle through your adjustment period and get back to playing, I'd love to get on a show of yours sometime.

And three hip-hips for squire when they were still nice and heavy duty!
