About the songs...
SEEN THIS WORLD:
Phew! The morning the pain subsides. After suffering the loss of a love, for what seems like an eternity, I can finally breathe again. Yes, the first morning I don't wake up obsessing about what went wrong. Instead, it's the first morning I look towards the future and all the possibilities that lay before me. Freedom, for my heart, mind and spirit! And that first morning does come, it MUST. And once you've found yourself again, get out into that world and LIVE, armed with fresh eyes and experience.
NYC:
New York City. I was born and raised in and around Gotham. It's a reflection of the strong currents you can get caught up in within this energetic city, not always carrying you in the direction you expected to go. Written after moving to Los Angeles, it's a longing for friends still fighting those currents. And a friend lost in the valley of shadows forever. It's also a homage to those I love there who give me courage as they've learned how to maneuver within those currents. This was written pre 9/11, and is steeped in deeper relevance since.
more to come...
