And so it went.
FCR just played 4 nights in a row from Kitchener to Ottawa with a slew of great bands to a throng of great music fans. Big shout outs go to our bros/lovers in AssembleMe for making it happen and for rocking it so darn hard. More big shout outs to everyone who came to a show, sang along, danced their butts off, or just had a few kind words to say after the show. I gotta say that the warm reception from the crowd at Cafe Dekcuf in Ottawa was humbling and encouraging. The biggest shout outs have to go to a) Mark for nailing it so hard in his first to fourth live performances drumming with us. 4 weeks of practice paid off well. b) the family and friends who travelled a little extra to make it to Kitchener, Toronto and Kingston and c) to my mom who drove 12 damn hours from New Brunswick to surprise us and catch our set in Ottawa. Carol Smith, you get tour MVP right there.
And so it goes.
we're referring to this as "kinda like a tour" or our "practice tour". we tried it on and it fit well. We're counting down the days, making schemes, maps and plans for an anticipated 10 day stint with AssembleMe through Ontario and Quebec in late October. Come to a show and say 'hi', or come to all 10 and say 'it's me again!'! we'll be pleased either way.
see you out there, sweating under the lights with a song in your ears and a song in your heart.
