[Note: I have tacked this to the top because I want to make sure Pat and her cohorts, Diane Fanning, Kathryn Casey and Donna Pendergast, understand that I am not going away and that I will not allow them to act as though nothing has ever occurred.  I will not forget or forgive what these cows put me through. I want a public apology, then maybe I'll let it lie.  Until then, they can continue to kiss my ass]

On September 23, 2008 I made the decision to begin using my real name.  This is neither a decision that I came to easily nor one that I take lightly.  It was a painstaking choice but one that I feel I had no alternative but to make.  It came down to a simple resolution of right and wrong, truth and lies, honor or cowardice. 

You know me as Michelle Gray.  In December 2007 I became the obsession of a woman who identifies herself as Criminal Profiler Pat Brown.  Michelle Gray is a pseudonym.  My name is Michelle McKee and I am Pat Brown's stalking victim.  This is not a joke.

I am going to take back my power and control.  I'm going to speak up and speak out, and I am going to do it as myself. 

In June of this year Pat Brown identified my real name in the comments of her blog.  She has no idea why I am using a pseudonym. For all she knows I could be trying to keep my real identity off of the Net due to domestic violence.  Her only concern was vindictive retribution for her belief that *I* was leaving comments on her blog that she didn't particularly care for.  She thinks that anyone who questions her credibility is me because I have flat out said that as far as I am concerned she is not qualified for her self-proclaimed title of a criminal profiler.

Two days ago Pat Brown again posted my real name in the public domain.  She did it as a form of terrorism; her purpose was to instill fear.  No more.  I will not be put through this crap any longer.

I am being actively investigated personally bat Pat Brown for my opinion of her professional (cough, choke) status.  However, she is not the only one who has been harassing me, libeling and slandering me, defaming me.  Nope.  She has friends who have been playing along, too.  But more on them later…

I want the entire true crime blogosphere to Google me.  I want everyone to prove to themselves that there is no way possible that my name, address and former employer could be in anyway linked to my pseudonym.  Pat Brown and her partners in crime have been alleging that I am the one who is the stalker, the defamer, the libeler, the harasser, etc. etc.  If that is the case then how did Pat Brown obtain my identity and other information?  She sure as hell didn't do it online.  I'll tell you that much! 

Google Michelle Gray, Michelle McKee and the National Insurance Crime Bureau and YOU connect them, then try to find my address.  I made sure that my identity was secure online.  There is no way to connect those dots unless you go offline and actively begin to pursue me.  There is no other way.  You have to actively stalk me in order to find out any personal information at all.  PERIOD!

Pat Brown's excuse for stalking me for almost a year is that it is "discovery" for a civil case against me – based on anonymous comments left on the Women in Crime Ink blog and, I assume, her Daily Crap-filer Blog, neither of which, incidentally, have StatCounter, SiteMeter or any other traffic monitoring code installed.  Not only doesn't she know how many readers she actually has she has employed no method to capture IPs in order to show either just cause for her allegation or even a slight inkling as to where in the world, let alone this country, the commenter or reader is coming in from.  When she says that there is a civil case pending against me or that there is a civil case in any way connected to me it is a complete and unadulterated, one hundred percent, bullshit.

Further, Donna Pendergast, Pat's co-blogger – Donna won't admit to much more than that – who is an attorney with the Michigan Attorney General's Office sent a libelous note to Corey Mitchell accusing me of calling her office line and leaving a "frightening" and "threatening" voicemail message.  Total bullshit.  I gave Donna the name to my former supervisor at NICB and the names of a couple of NICB agents she could use as witnesses.  I told her to go ahead and call them, play the tape and let them tell her that the voice wasn't mine.  My former supervisor is a retired FBI Special Agent in Charge (SAC) and SWAT team leader.  I figure she could trust him more than she's going to trust Corey to say it isn't me.  Donna never went to NICB.  She says that if I say it isn't me then okay, it isn't me.  Wow, that was easy, huh?  Does anyone besides me smell bullshit? 

I couldn't find an attorney willing to take a libel case against an attorney at the AGO, does anyone REALLY think that Pat Brown can find an attorney to file a civil case against anyone for her allegations?  At least I can prove mine.  She's just lying for the purpose of being a total bitch.  Of course the sycophants who have their heads planted firmly up her ass don't have the intelligence, or possibly the intestinal fortitude, to ask her to prove her lies.  They just sit back and chant, "Oh Pat, if you didn't speak for victim's who would?"  I'm a victim and I'd rather have someone like Andy Kahan speak for me than this phony baloney CSI wannabe piece of trash.

I locked Criminal Conduct, my blog.  I deleted posts from my MySpace.  I resigned as editor of ICB and I haven't written damn near word one since June.  Yet Pat and her partners have not let up.  The other day I saw her on my MySpace poking around.  I saw her on ICB clicking on my name looking for posts.  She obviously hasn't given up. She is still obsessed with me.  So I make a short blog post on MySpace intimating that I am going to 'poon the crap out of her.  She went nuts and left the following comment on Lampoon. 

Please note that the woman who is oh-so professional, who has her "Masters degree (obtained online), and is oh-so much smarter than law enforcement and just about everyone else on the planet can't spell worth a shit and apparently doesn't possess enough intellect to be able to locate either the business mailing address or the business email address – something a 4th grader could accomplish – and instead leaves her libelous bile in the comments of the blog.  Good thing she didn't decide to call herself a brain surgeon!  There'd be brains n blood all over the damn place.

I was just given a heads up that a women who has been stalking me and harasssing me, Michelle McKee AKA Michelle Gray - one of your writers/bloggers contends that National Lampoon has given her permission to write something possibly defamatory about me. In her words, "Oh, and Lampoon! has given me permission to open a lovely can of whoop ass and kick the ever loving crap out of Pat Brown… Stalkers never prosper, Pat…"

 

Ms. McKee has harrassed and stalked a number of true crime authors and myself for extended periods of time. One author has recently sued her. While I have no objection to Ms. McKee having a negative opinion of me or my professional work, she has resorted to lies and slander concerning me and posted these on the Internet. Furthermore, she has changed my Wikipedka page so many times we had to pull it and she has stalked me relentlessly; however, she claims it is I who stalk her (because I read her blog occassionally to see if she is slandering me).

 

While I know Lampoon likes to do send ups of well-known personalities (and I have no problem with this! I enjoy them and even have to laugh when they are about me), I know Lampoon would not want to be used as a medium to support libelous words.

So, I thought I would send a heads up your way. I don't know if Ms. McKee is just talking rot about trashing me on Lampoon but, if she actually is planning a piece, please be aware that much of what she might put in it is possibly libelous.

The difference between you and I is that I have around 100 copies of web site traffic reports in which your static IP is present, Pat, along with search terms containing my name, email address, etc., as well as your out-clicks – going back to November/December 2007. I also have emails that went to various individuals accusing me of being a hacker by your cohorts, in which the scenario described can be shown to be fabricated and a complete lie. I have an email threatening me with career suicide for not being supportive of you. Every single incident of defamation, libel, slander and harassment against me over the last SEVERAL months has been at the hands of women who write on this blog. Every single one! By the way, in addition to hard copy proof of stalking, libel, harassment and defamation, I also have witnesses that can substantiate MY allegations because they were on the receiving end of those phone calls and emails where I was being lied about. If deposed I seriously doubt any of them will lie about the facts of what they received or were told.

 

You have nothing to back up your allegations against me. It is nothing but a poorly constructed deception and you and your little buddies have been at it for MONTHS. Other than your delusion, the only other thing you might have are emails from Blogger which are sent when someone leaves a comment. You have absolutely no traffic monitoring code present in the template of your blogs and have no way of knowing who is visting your site or if you even have more than 10 readers (which I doubt). Apparently no one has ever told you that those IPs in the emails are for Blogger and not the IPs of individuals leaving the comments. Oops, did I just blow your evidence out of the water? Yeah, I think so…

 

Now, *I* am telling YOU to cease and desist and remove your libelous remarks about me post haste. As you are well aware one of us can prove slander, libel, harassment, defamation and stalking – however, it isn't you. There is no issue of "Discovery" here. I read your blog on Pat today. I'm really disappointed. First: it seems vindictive, aimed at all of us for leaving. As I've said often, I respected your decision to stay, and I hoped you'd respect our decision to leave.

Second: You're breaking into a new field, studying to be a writer. You want to gain credibility and acceptance. You hope those of us in the field who have studied and worked hard to be taken seriously as journalists will give you the benefit of the doubt and accept your talents and contributions. Yet you attack Pat for working hard, which she has, to be taken seriously in her field. While it's not in the post you lifted off her website, Pat has recently finished a master's degree in her field. She's someone, like you, who focused on a goal and worked toward it.

The problem is not that you reposted her article off her website. It's the snarky, yes, snarky way you framed it in your introduction. I'm just really disappointed. Why can't we just let all of this pass without hard feelings? Why can't we just go on with our lives and pursue our own interests. Corey tried through his apology post to get beyond this, which was the right thing to do. Your determination to stir the pot yet again is petty.

Hope you're well. I read all your news in the group, and I hope this turns

I'm e-mailing reluctantly. I hoped the nastiness of our departure from ICB
was behind us and we could all go on to our own endeavours wishing each
other well, but there seem to be some lingering unpleasant consequences.
While I'm sure you have absolutely nothing to do with this, I am hoping
that you can use your influence to assist us.

I'm sure you've seen that we've started Women in Crime Ink, an all-women's
true crime blog. It's up and doing well, and we're all very excited about
the potential. But we've had some rather rough correspondence from folks
tied to Michele Grey.

Opinions are one thing. Everyone's certainly entitled to their own. But
today, Diane turned on her computer and on her screen photos appeared that
aren't hers. Someone hacked or at least tried to hack into her computer.
For what purpose, we're not sure, but the hacker is apparently involved in
ICB. The photos that popped up are all from ICB's current fare, including
the ICB logo, the booking photo of Keven Graff, and the Rodriguez wedding
photo.

It is, of course, always dangerous to jump to conclusions. Diane is on the
road today, and that's why I'm e-mailing. Because of the emails she's
already received and recognizing Michelle's talent with computers, we do,
however, wonder if she is the source.

While I know you're no longer running ICB, I am aware that you and Michele
are friends and that she respects your opinion. What we're asking is if
you'll talk to Michelle and remind her that this type of activity is
uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. We'd like reassurance that this
will never happen again.

I feel no animosity toward you, and I hope you have none for me. We're all
in the same field. It does none of us any good to propagate this further.
It's likely our paths will cross at events in years to come. Michele needs
to let go and move on.

Please let me know your thoughts on this matter and what action, if any,
you feel you can take on our behalf. If you're unable to remedy the
situation, we'll have to investigate other solutions.
