Category: Blogging
I've wanted to post a new blog for a while now.  I'll start by saying that my boys are 11 weeks old now!  They've caught up to what a normal 2 1/2 month old should be, weight wise.  I've enjoyed being a mommy more than I could have ever imagined.  I love taking them out to go shopping (Wal-Mart's air conditioning is better than mine) and to anywhere else my heart desires.  There,  I've given credit to being a mommy to two BEAUTIFUL babies.
Allow me to rant.  I HATE BREASTFEEDING!  Every bit of my time revolves around when I should pump next.  I've given up on the whole nursing thing.  I found that it is for masochists and people who can't afford to buy formula.  I endured 7 weeks of that hell and I'm no wimp, let me tell you.  When you pull your baby off of you and his face is covered in blood, there is blood all over your breast and your baby then gives an open mouthed grin revealing a mouth FULL of blood, one might give up right then and there.  But no, I continued trying this out for another four weeks.  Thank God that part is over! Next, I really thought that because I was already fairly well endowed that I wouldn't get much larger.  HAH!  We'll leave it at that.
On a lighter note, I am down to 130 lbs.  That is just 5 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight!  I can easily slip into a size 6, not without my extra skin getting in the way a bit, but that's what girdles are for.  My tummy is slowly but surely going back down.  I'm kinda working on it.  Oh, and my new favorite thing to do is to get out of the house by myself, get a big ass frappucino and go to the grocery store!  By the time I get back I miss my boys terribly (and of course it's time to pump again.)  Speaking of,  I gotta go.  L8ER BLOGGERS!

Well, I'm glad that you love being a mommy and that you still get some time to yourself (even if it is to the grocery store!). I miss ya ~ Give those beautiful babies kisses for me!

Ahh the little vampires, Logan did it to me too, had hell for 2 weeks and almost gave up. I can't imagine two of them nursing! Congrats on the great weight loss! They are very handsome little ones!

You may already know about these- but have you tried nipple sheilds? They're these little bitty thin plastic things that fit over your nipples so the baby's mouth doesn't actually come into contact with your skin, but their sucking motion draws breastmilk through these tiny little holes. They saved my life with both of the boys and helped me get through those rough early weeks. It's kind of like training wheels for nursing. Once Aiden and Evan learned how to latch on right, I didn't need them any more but I couldn't have done it without those things. I bled a lot with Evan too before I got the nipple shields. I got mine at Target- Modela was the brand name I think :-)

Oh yeah, I've got em. I have em in every size they make and I'm telling you, between pumping and nursing two babies, I just couldn't hack it. Every time I tried to nurse they would fall asleep. Meanwhile I'm getting all engorged because the time to pump was approaching quickly. I'd take them off of me so I could pump, they wake up and scream, so I put them back on, they fall back asleep. Vicious cycle! It made me a very angry mommy! I had pain from improper latch on/violent sucking, engorgement and pumping every 3-4 hours. It would reduce me to tears. I've tried EVERYTHING that they make to assist with nursing and NOTHING made the pain any less bearable. If I ever have a singleton I will give it another shot. For now, I get plenty of satisfaction watching my boys eat from a bottle.

Nursing isn't for everyone! Breastmilk is BEST, any way you can get it to the little guys is going to be beneificial. Pumping is wonderful and it does save money after you pay off the outrageously expensive pump. I do know lots of babies that were only formula fed and you can not tell a difference. I had the same problem blood pouring out of Ryan's mouth. It has gotten better and I do enjoy the time Ryan and I spend while I feed him. You got to do what makes you feel the best if breastfeeding is stressing you out the babies will pick up on it and only make you feel worse. As a MOM you know what is BEST for YOUR children. Good luck and enjoy being a MOMMY it is the best gift ever, and I will not take it for granted!!!
