This is one of two established universal truths that was confirmed by an intergalactic council in 2001. The vote was unanimous for inclusion of all nine, though the order of the symphonies was in contention (below is how the voting worked out). I was the representative from earth and was nominated through a secret vote by a panel including, among others, Kofi Anan and The Artist Once Again known as Prince.
