Holy fucking fuck. it's done. after three attempts and almost a year's worth of work it's finished. I picked up one of the final mixes last night, which means I get to listen to it for two weeks and decide on what needs to be fixed before it gets mastered. We still have artwork and stuff to finalise (guy we are getting to that I promise) and then it has to be mastered and pressed. Still no release date yet but what I can tell you is that after a late night mixing and bouncing down tracks our man has done very well. Rick Hollis who I already mentioned has worked with some big names has done an amazing job at this, and I know everyone has been super patient on waiting for this record and it's been worth the slog and worth the wait. It's like we have fallen a few times, and every time we get up and run hard back at that wall to break through, well we ran fucking hard this time and we smashed it. The boys have had a lot of late nights and early mornings, a lot of drinks, lots of waiting around, lots of "what the fuck is happening with this record" and we're glad you could be on this journey with us.
Like I say it's still a way off yet but it's moving quicker and as soon as it's mastered (pressing has a bti of a turn around time) I can get some songs up here. When you listen to this record remember how much of a trial it has been (see previous blogs) and how much we appreciate everybody sticking by us and helping us up every time we took a stumble. Thanks to everyone who has ever come to a show, bought a shirt, bought us a drink, had us buy them a drink, cheered us on and bagged us. Thank you to everyone who put in so much fucking effort into this CD and not once asked for anything back other than "when the fuck am I going to hear this?"
I'll keep you up to date on everything as it happens. Also Sakkuth are releasing a new song in just over two days onto www.myspace.com/sakkuth it's been two years working to that point, and I can't wait to show everyone this song, it's amazing and like the Splitty album was worth the wait. check it out and let me know what you think.
