"I want to open my eyes to music
and close them just the same.
I want to laugh at all my troubles
and shed no tears in shame.
I want to dance while I am working
and sing when I'm alone.
I want to kiss you in the moonlight
and make the universe our home."

My Night

I dared the night to swallow me
Leave me blinded hopelessly
Paint my soul in its darkest hue
Hide me from all judging views.

Still light seeped through night's darkest veil
Steadfast though distant, almost pale
A timeless glimmer from afar
A hundred thousand dancing stars

I let the dark relax its hold
And bade the quiet bathe my soul
Released by tiny hopes of light
Light in my heart and in my night

I too recently dwelled in this dark night...

But in some there is a light that though may be dimmed,

can never be completely put out...

Good to see you back my friend~

Thank you sweetheart. I'll be in and out but never gone. Your comment reminded me of one of my all time favorite quotes....

"Hope is the best and last of all things. Without it is only time. And time pushes at our back like a centrifuge, forcing us outward and away, until it nudges us into oblivion...."

I love it. I've held on to hope in spite of darkness quite a few times.
Well written, Steve.

3AM in the Morning!

"I let the dark relax its hold
And bade the quiet bathe my soul"

Sometimes it's when we relax and let go that we gain our peace.

Loved this line the most.
