hey guys, phil here. i have a sad announcement to make. i have made the difficult decision to leave olympia.

i've had some big reality checks recently in my personal life including a pretty serious bike accident that sidelined me for a few months. i've come to the conclusion that for right now i really need to focus on other areas of my life for a while. touring and making music with olympia has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life, but with the realities of touring and being in a band, it didn't offer a lot of stability which is what i really need right now.

the guys have been completely understanding and there are no hard feelings at all. i am happy to report that they are moving forward and going to find a new singer, which is exactly what i want them to do. i have heard the new music that the band is writing and it is fucking amazing... and it was really hard to leave knowing that someone else is going to get to pick up where i left off, but it's the right thing and i know the guys will find someone awesome.

i have nothing but love for these dudes and i wish them all the best. if you can sing, audition for them. if you see them on a show flyer in your town, bring your beer bong and prepare to get awesome. if you're one of the many people who has already shown us hospitality and kindness on tour, i thank you from the bottom of my heart. that also goes for our amazing family at equal vision and all the bands we toured with over the past years. thanks most of all goes to my dudes - peter, shane, and nick. thanks for all the memories and the chill spots.

i will pick music back up someday soon when the time is right. and i'll be sure to tell you about that. i may not go on tour anymore, but i already visited you... maybe it's your turn to come visit virginia. i'll save you a spot on the couch. feel free to stay in touch - phil [at] olympiaband.com is still my address.
