Rodrigo Y Gabrela look tiny sitting in the middle of the huge 2nd Stage, but there's no problem getting a better view as I waltz pretty much straight to the top. With Muse, Queens of the Stone age and Wu Tang Clan playing the other stages, it never was going to be an easy gig for the guitar wielding duo. However, they are trying their hardest to get the crowd involved with flailing arms for timed cheers and Rodrigo actually getting up from his seat to get the crowd to clap in time (and it ust be said, for a festival crowd they are strangley in time).

However, I cant help but think the magic's just not there. The crowd are enjoying it but i'ts a small crowd for such a big outside stage and Rodrigo Y Gabriela struggling to keep the momentum up. I cringe slightly when they start playing Pink Floyds 'Wish You Were Here', as its like a karaoke stage trick to keep the crowd happy. Its a sing along and unlike their covers of 'Stairway to Heaven' and Metallicas 'One', there is no virtuous guitar tricks.

Us mere mortals could only hope to play like Rodrigo Y Gabriela and in a tent, they would be ideal. However, they just didn't fit headlining such a huge open stage and the thinning crowd reflected that.
