10.11.08  2nd Annual Olde Kings Jazz Fest  Swedesboro, NJ

Malik will appear as a special guest with Rev. Sherry Lynn Hall and the Friends of Destiny at the 2nd Annual Olde Kings Jazz Fest. The festival, in its second year, will be presented at seven venues, featuring the area's top jazz vocalists and musicians.

Rev. Sherry has incorporated many styles into her approach as a unique vocalist, including jazz, R&B, blues and soul. Her many credits include performing in the hit off-Broadway production of "Yes, God Is Real", and singing under the direction of Robert Shaw. Rev. Sherry is an accomplished musician, vocal music and drama instructor, and playwright. Her desire is to use music to uplift others.

Friends of Destiny include the music master, Malik Alston, of Detroit. Malik is a prolific singer, keyboardist, songwriter and producer. He has performed internationally and recorded over 35 times. His current well-received solo project is entitled "This Music Is Life". "Boogaloo Joe" Jones, guitarist, has 11 solo albums. Kenny Cook, keyboardist, is recognized at one of the best gospel pianists in South Jersey. Arvin Hall, bassist, and Abram Hall, drummer, are an inspiring father and son duo.

Rev. Sherry's performance will include original material from her upcoming project, featuring some of her most requested standards and four new songs. She will also perform a duet with her daughter, Candace, and give a new interpretation to several works of her late father, Bishop Dr. Arvin J. Hall, Sr.
