Here's how i came to be playing music the way that i am:

I go through phases, that's the best i can describe myself as a musician. Four-string phases, five-string phases, six-string phases. Right now i'm in a four-string phase. I've had big Tool phases, big metal phases, big Dream Theater phases, jazz phases and classical phases. Right now i'm in a creative phase though, which is why you're reading and listening to all this. My pedalboard has constantly been evolving since i started using pedals. They're there for both constructive and entertainment purposes.

The people who've influenced my playing the most are (in no particular order): Justin Chancellor (for effects inspiration, not being afraid to move around under chords, and because his tone is amazing), John Coltrane (especially his later work), John Myung (if, for nothing else, the value of discipline), John Petrucci (for speed), John McLaughlin (because he deserves Hendrix' glory), Adam Jones (because less is more), Danny Carey (for rhythmic genius), Ornette Coleman (for first introducing me to musical freedom), Tom Waits (because he rules), John Paul Jones (for showing me how to play bass right), Tom Morello (for keeping me from using a million pedals), Peter Hook (for opening me up to minimalism) and myself, because expression needs some ego.

More later?
