CONGRATS FOR SEPTEMBER 2009 BOOKINGS!!!
Heather Rene Smith -- made a club appearance up in San Francisco at club BOSS along with Ashlee Ricci. She also booked a potential tour with Playboy for a new group called the Playboy dancers along with 7 other Playboy Playmates.
Ashlee Ricci -- Miss Myspace 2009 made an appearance on Fuel TV's Daily Habit show on two separate occasions. She also hosted a club appearance with Heather Rene Smith and Fiesty of VH1's For the Love of Ray J.
Joey Davenport -- after 3 seasons of adversity, Joey finally got to play in the Lingerie Football League, quarterbacking the Los Angeles Temptations to their first win of the season over the Denver Storm in Denver. She led the comeback to pull it out, 26-19.
Trevor Campbell -- Cartoon Network green lit Trevor to have his OWN SHOW and he spent September auditioning his co-host. This is very exciting as he has a pilot and a couple of episodes to impress the network and hopefully get picked up for an entire season (and more)! Keep fingers crossed as you hopefully hear this name in the future more often. I know I mentioned this last blog, but you get more excited when it's actually happening as oppose to last month, when they "said" it was happening. Hook Jaw Net Radio -- interviewed MM client, VH1's Blonde Baller (Kip Force) of Real Chance of Love 2. They also interviewed Ted's friends, Monica Mayhem and Sophie Dee. And to hear the interviews (along with my Maier Minute) just go to your iTunes and click on podcasts in your iTunes store. Then type in Hook Jaw Net Radio and you can download the show for FREE! All of them, or whichever broadcast you want (all for free). September marked the beginning of the Fall season on television with new shows starting up and old ones starting their new seasons. We'll have to wait and see which new shows become hits and which ones fail and get cancelled. We had several clients audition for some new shows and of course the old ones. Although the economy is down, it looks as though the theatrical world is back to normal. Only thing is, a lot of production has gone EAST?! That's right, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, New York and Florida have all increased in television and film production. This leaves Hollywood and California hurting in the production field. You'd think this wouldn't affect actors, but a lot of these productions are hiring LOCALLY from the towns they shoot in?! So LA actors are left out in the cold unless they're name celebrities. So we still have this battle to deal with and we'll see how the season goes!
I'd like to also dedicate this month's blog to BRANDON OLECH of the Bobby Ball Agency, who passed away last month at the young age of 37. Brando as he was called, was a friend of mine and co-worker with me at LA Talent / LA Models back in 1998 and 1999. We spent many hours and days together, both learning the agenting business. We went to a lot of events and showcases together and even to San Antonio, Texas to judge a showcase. We stayed friends since then and will miss his amazing spirit and zest for life! He wasn't always right, but he was always right there when you needed him! RIP BRANDO 1972-2009
