Allo allo, I have bitten off a wee bit more than I can chew...in a good way - music, work and an intensive foundation course to boot. Nothing like keeping the juices flowing. Save to say, I am keeping gigs to one a month until I can get back into the swing in April, but they are going beautifully. I am so enjoying the gorgeous musicians I am working with at the moment (Nick Rye drums/percussion, Dave Hawkins guitar, Davide Mantovani double bass, Gemma Fuller trumpet, and Sian Lattimer backing vocals) - could not find a lovelier and more talented bunch. The vibe on stage is the best yet. Just loving it.
So I jumped into a Garden Shed in Surrey with a few of them just before Christmas and came out with six, delicious, raw new tracks which I will share with you shortly. Just sorting out some bits and bobs. You know how it goes. Richard Sadler played double bass on these tracks so I will be getting him onto the stage at some point very soon I hope.
And a week or so ago I signed a wee publishing deal with Guy Fletcher at Commercial Arts which is a lovely feeling. It will be quite a joy to have someone doing some leg work for me for a change! Yipppeeeee! And he really gets the music and me, which is starting from just the right place in my book. So we shall see. I have grown very pragmatic about the way things go in this industry, and provided I continue to enjoy it, then I will continue to play, to write, to sing and to forge ahead and find my way. Sharing the journey.
And here is the music video for "King Of The Island", last track on my album. It was shot by Oz Smith on La Gomera in the Canaries just after Christmas. It was tough!
All my love and thanks for the support,
