Goya Dress was my first band/love (check out Myspace/goyadress). Me, Terry de Castro and Simon Pearson had the best of times and "Rooms" was our one and only album, sadly. Anyway in spite of my current self being compared to dessert, sort of, i'm really proud of "Rooms". willi x

Harsh on you Astrid and plain wrong actually! But, on the album, spot on, it was a one off, you could never have followed it. It still stands like a perfect jewel, I still listen to it a lot (as I do to your solo stuff!), it's a gem, which will always attract those who are looking for something emotional and stunningly direct. Celebrate it, never try to recreate it, I'm glad I'm one of the people who bought that lp when it came out and always will be  x

that kind of sarcasm from the nme is probably a good thing, innit? if the opposite of "vanilla" is "directional haircut and cookie-cutter angst".
