Osaka is alot different to tokyo primarily, it seems, because they like a drink that little bit more. When we played triangle at midnight on a friday night it was a well warmed crowd ready to have a rip up, and rip up they did.
Good noisy vibe with a bit of banter, and when we had an impromtu jam while matt changed a string, it was alot of fun. good and easy.
It was the most enjoyable show for me despite my trombone mic snapping mid set.
That night we had alot of booze and the next day, with sore heads we made our way to magicalcamp festival in hokkaido.
This is a very different part of japan and noticeably cooler and more mountainous. In fact the festival is at a ski resort overlooking sapporo and was all done up right nice. Interesting to see how japanese do the festival thing and predictably it was full of surprises, like us going on at 4am and playing while it got light. Very nice and a great way to cap off the tour.
The video footage from this one looks particularly good so watch out for some youtube action sometime soon.
Infact, we got 8 track recordings and 3 camera shots of most of the gigs thanks to andy AKA blagattack of utakuattack
Thanks andy and thanks also to zander for his excellent photography work.
Cant wait till the next time - big up soil and "pimp" - new album sounds amazing..
