I was alone again the next night, and quite frankly, I was spooked. I went to bed around midnight. At exactly 3:40* in the morning I awoke to this loud thump coming from the other side of my room, followed by a rolling sound coming across my floor, and ending with a slight bump at the foot of my bed.
I flipped on my light to find several books (college annuals to be exact) had shifted in my bookcase. This shift knocked a glass Coke bottle from the same shelf, and this bottle was what rolled across the floor and hit my bed.
All of these events can be logically explained. However, in the year I lived there, my books only shifted that once. Further, I attempted to duplicate the bottle's roll pattern over to the foot of my bed. The angle at which I found it, combined with the shape of the bottle (would have to travel in a arc of some sort), lead me to believe the event was caused supernaturally. The fact that this occurred at the exact time as the glass-breaking episode the previous night has me convinced it was supernatural.
This was the first significant Penny contact I'd had in many years. My personal belief is that by telling our stories that Friday night, I somehow opened a channel that allowed a spirit to make contact. I can't say with certainty that it was Penny (who knows, it could've been any random spirit). Personally, I believe it was Penny. I think that's why I had the second supernatural occurrence the next night at the exact same time. I think Penny made contact that first night, then wanted me to be certain it was him, which is why there was contact the following night at the exact same time.
*The 3:40 a.m. time isn't significant to me. I don't know if it's significant in the spirit world. The real time could've been anywhere from 3:25 to 3:40 because I used to keep my clocks set ahead. All I can say with certainty is that my clock displayed 3:40 both nights.
