Aight...last night I hit up the late night 300 showing, and here are my quick thoughts.
Sweet Stuff
The visuals are the most stylistic cinema I've ever seen. The Oracle scene was mostly likely my favorite as you could take each frame and make into a full size painting and it would be balanced and beautiful.
The editors did an amazing job with the battle scenes. Finally something different to all the Braveheart redundancies and Crouching Tiger rip-offs.
The lead character's voice, King Leonidas, sounding like a mix between Seann Connery and Sylvester Stallone. Alight, probably shouldn't be in the same category as the above two statements.
Not So Sweet Stuff
Acting is pretty stale and unimpressive. Kind of figured that since there weren't any big names in the credits, but I was hoping to be surprised here.
Many of the speeches from the characters sounded like they were sitting in a vocal booth in a studio, overdubbing their lines. Took me out of the story.
The lead character's voice, King Leonidas, sounding like a mix between Seann Connery and Sylvester Stallone. Okay, I decided it goes into both categories.
