As we bring the coal shovel in through the front door we must ring the following changes to FictionNonFictions weekly Tiger Lounge sociable. The axe falls upon the taxless entry, it is no longer possible to ride this bus for free, something is no longer nothing and nil pund is nein more. To get technical, we have run our weekly FNF nights at Tiger Lounge for over 2 years now with no door charge but for almost as long we have been stalling, persauding, arguing with the management (who took over shortly after we had sealed the gratis deal for FNF with previous Lounge chiefs) to keep it that way. That running battle is now lost and the zero fee entry is at an end. FictionNonFiction however, is an adaptable animal.
In an effort to maintain the principal of free entry and avoid dissuasive mid week high prices FNF is implementing a membership card scheme. The one off purchase of FNF membership will allow the card holder free or reduced entry to all future FNF events. A card for comrades. Lifetime FictionNonFiction membership is available for the decimal sum of £5 only, the price of a single solitary visit to some venues to see the same bands. For those who wish to visit but not sign on board the good membership HMS FNF we offer a low price cash alternative as illustrated by the sub pint price for our January 15th first experiment with FNF membership.
We have heard from many bands and many visitors to FNF that they appreciate the chance to play/see new and varied bands in the city centre for free and hopefully this membership scheme will allow us this to continue. Having spoken to a number of FNFsters it seemed like a popular alternative option. Opinions/comments welcome. We would like to thank all those who have attended/played FNF over the years of freedom for making it the entertaining and eclectic evening it has been and encourage you all to come down and make your mark on the dotted line.
