We have been home from Europe for exactly two weeks now. Unfortunately it does not take long to settle back into the same old routine. The worst part is right now, there is absolutely nothing exciting on the horizon to look forward to as we did with our holiday for so long. I find that I have itchy feet in the biggest possible way and suddenly want everything possible to happen RIGHT NOW!
Our holiday was good. We got to see so much of Poland, spending almost a month there. We got to live almost as the Polish do at times, eating massive meals of sausage and washing it all down with vodka shots. Shopping was good there too... with our dollar worth double the Polish dollar. I wish I had of had more room in my suitcase without all the heavy winter clothes.
Germany was pretty and we saw a fair bit of it in the short time of just over a week that we had. We got to enjoy the vibe of the world famous Christmas markets, with hot wine and metre long weiner. Of course there was the beer too, but unfortunately I'm not a fan of beer or wine.
Paris was full of things to see and our week there was pretty much go go go. We saw all the big sites you always want to see if ever in Paris, including the amazing view from the top of the Eiffel Tower. We certainly were sick of stairs after Paris too... with every tower having another thousand stairs to climb. Little wonder my ankles and knees ended up protesting.
Overall, it was a great experience and I wish I could do it all again... next month? But it will be a while until our next big trip. Hopefully next time round in the warmer weather (so I can pack less and shop more), with plans to see Italy and England at least.
