Hey everybody.
I am in a coffeeshop in Lincoln, NE writing to you folks on the final night of our Midwestern tour of these here United States.
Two nights ago we played in downtown Des Moines, at the Vaudeville Mews. It was easily our best sounding night, and we sold the most merch at that show. The crowd was a little small, but on our end it was definately our most solid show of the tour. So that was fun. We headed back to Ames, to stay at Eric's house one more night (thanks again to him).
Yesterday we played in St. Louis, MO. This was my first time to the city, and let me tell you, it's a really cool place. The Busch Stadium is great to see, and the Gateway Arch is kind of surreal when you finally see it in person.
The Bluebird is a really great venue, with a cool scene going on and some tasty food. We met up with the guys from Target Market, who were not only awesome dudes but were also hospitable hosts.
Berlin Whale was great, and super fun to see...they really knew how to pump some energy into the crowd.
We played next...I think it was a pretty good show, but not the best we've played.
Target Market was on after us, and boy were they something. I really enjoy those guys, and I hope they get to come up to MPLS sometime so we can play a show with them. Awesome dudes, awesome band.
After the show, and quite a few drinks, we headed to a karaoke bar which was OFF the HOOK. Seriously. I had never been in a bar as cool as this...There were at least 100 disco balls hanging from the ceiling, mirrors everywhere, and blue and pink neon lights everywhere. It was a CRAZY night, I don't think I should post everything that happened HERE, but if you want to hear about it, come find one of us. Retrospectivly, it's kind of a funny story. But there was all-night St. Louis/Illinois craziness.
Now we are in Lincoln, NE...we were told to be here at 5:30pm for load in, which we BOOKED it to make on time, and it turns out we don't load until 8:30...that's a bummer, but we're killing time in a coffeeshop, and we're going to get some dinner...it should be all good. I think we're going to try and drive home tonight after the show, and we'll all sleep Friday.
Mouthful of Bees, Ladyslipper, and us on the 19th at the BEAT! GO TO IT! We'll be home soon! LOVE!
