In the States
As a session guitarist and Christian musician, I sometimes get the opportunity to travel and meet amazing people all over the world!
I have been in the States now for nearly 2 months! I have had the pleasure of traveling to Dallas Ft. Worth Texas, Tulsa Oklahoma, Nashville Tennessee, the beautiful Missouri Ozarks and...Kansas... One of the most amazing experiences that I have EVER had was visiting "Second Missionary Baptist Church" in Moberly Missouri. I have had the pleasure of visiting the church now four times. Furthermore, every time I go, I get to jam with the Rev. Howard Glasgow and the choir! Rev. Glasgow is a singing and keyboard playing preacher that is so reminiscent of Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles (but in many ways better!) When we play, we hit on a groove like we have jammed with each other for years! I love those guys! I believe I am now a member of the church! Here is an email I received from Rev Glasgow recently!

Texas was great! It was my first time in the wild-west! And it is true what they say "everything is big in Texas!" I had the privilege of visiting the University of North Texas in Denton. Moreover, I performed some jazz standards on the guitar there, actually on an audition basis! It was a really good excuse to play “Giant Steps” “Autumn Leaves and “My Funny Valentine”. At the audition, I had the pleasure meeting the wonderful jazz guitarist Fred Hamilton. He is a fantastic guy and he is a committed Christian too! Check his site www.fredhamilton.com Furthermore, I was fortunate to be offered to take their Master's program in Jazz!
We also led worship at Wycliffe Bible College's chapel service and performed a concert with Professor Paul Neeley (Music and Missions Consultant International Worship and Arts Network Editor of EM News Author of books on ethnomusicology) and Kristian Erik Megahan. Kristian taught us a wonderful worship song Hindi!
Paul Neeley is available for in-depth ethnomusicology consulting for particular mission projects and teaching courses on music and missions from the introductory and for graduate levels!
See Paul Neeley's website at: www.worship-artsnetwork.com/PAULsite.html or you can also email him at neeleypl@netspace.net
The stay in Texas was extra special, as we stayed with a good friend James Lowery. He was a complete gentleman and is also a fabulous encourager and supporter of Christian Artists and Missionaries. Check James out on his really great site: www.risepod.com
